Registration and insurance
Papers that come up before they lapse.
Each unit keeps its registration and insurance with the expiry date and the document. When a date is 30 days out, an Attend card lands in the office’s Work queue and opens the unit’s record, so the renewal is on someone’s list.
- Registration by state, with the number and the cab card
- Insurance by provider, with the policy number and the certificate
- An Attend card 30 days out that someone takes, completes or defers
ComingAnnual inspection dates and company filings such as UCR and Form 2290 aren’t tracked here yet.

Engine data from the ELD
The check‑engine light, read in the office.
The ELD listens to the truck’s data bus and reports what it hears: active fault codes, warning lamps, aftertreatment and fluids. The office sees which lamps the engine has on without calling the driver.
- Active fault codes by SPN and FMI, with the count and the module that sent them
- Regeneration, soot and ash load, particulate filter status
- Coolant and DEF levels, DEF temperature, low fuel and low DEF lights
- Listen-only: it doesn’t clear codes or change settings on the truck
Readings depend on what each truck broadcasts. Codes show as SPN and FMI numbers, and anything the truck doesn’t send reads “Not broadcast on this truck”.

Live map
Every truck on one map, with the hours left.
While the ELD is connected, each truck’s position comes in from the cab. Beside it: the driver, their duty status and the drive, shift and cycle time left, the same clocks the driver sees.
Dispatch can see who has the hours for the next load before picking up the phone.
ComingToday’s ELD reports its position through the driver’s phone or tablet. The cellular unit with its own GPS is coming.

Trailers and cab hardware
Which trailer, which ELD, which tablet.
Trailers move between trucks and devices move between cabs. Each one leaves a trail the office can read.

Trailer custody
Every attach and drop is a dated entry that stays on file. The driver’s inspection takes its trailer from the truck’s current hookup.

FAQ
Questions carriers ask
Does this make our maintenance program meet federal rules?
No software can promise that. For each vehicle a carrier controls for 30 consecutive days or more, the rules ask for “a means to indicate the nature and due date of the various inspection and maintenance operations to be performed” (49 CFR 396.3(b)(2)) and a record of inspections, repairs and maintenance with their date and nature (396.3(b)(3)). The record gives each date, mileage, shop, cost and document a place; the program and the decisions stay yours.
Do we need your ELD to use the fleet records?
No. Trucks, trailers, maintenance, papers and trailer custody work on their own. Engine data, fault codes, firmware and the hours on the map come from the ELD, which is in field testing and not yet on FMCSA’s registered list.
Does it remind us when service is due?
For registration and insurance, yes: an Attend card reaches the Work queue 30 days before either expires. For service, no: each maintenance entry can carry the next due date, mileage or both, kept with the entry, but no reminder goes out when they come up.
Can the office read a check-engine light?
When the truck broadcasts them, the ELD reports active fault codes as SPN and FMI numbers, with how often each has occurred and which module sent it, plus the warning lamps, aftertreatment and fluid levels. It only listens: it doesn’t clear codes or change anything on the truck. Codes come as numbers, not descriptions, so your shop still says what each one means.
How do ELD updates reach the trucks?
Each release goes out from our servers. The driver’s phone or tablet carries it to the unit over Bluetooth, and the driver installs it with the engine off. The office sees which version each unit runs, so no one has to visit the truck.
How are company phones and tablets set up?
In the office, Add phone or Add tablet shows a one-time QR code. The device scans it with its camera and joins your company, and you choose who may sign in on it. Removing a device signs it out only when the truck is stopped. Both are in testing.
