Shared inboxes. No shared passwords.

Company mailboxes and shared inboxes like dispatch@ and billing@. Each person signs in as themselves and gets a role on each mailbox. Mail from a known customer address files itself onto that customer’s record.

FAQ

Questions about company email

Can people keep the mail app they use now?

Not today. Mail has no IMAP, POP or ActiveSync, so other mail apps can’t connect. Everyone works in the ANNEX ORBIS web app, on a computer or in a tablet’s browser. The tablet and mobile apps read and reply in plain text, and they’re in testing.

Is sending ready?

Sending is in testing. It runs on the same queue and signing that send our sign-in codes every day, but no email written by a person is recorded in production yet. Shared inboxes, roles, reading, the spam filter and filing are Available.

Do we have to move our domain?

No. Your domain stays where it is. You add the DNS entries the setup lists, and it checks them on its own. Your current email keeps working while you prepare; keep it connected until the changeover is confirmed. Own-domain setup is in testing, so we do it with you.

Who can read a shared inbox?

Only the people given a role on it: Read only, Read and send, Manage mailbox or Mailbox owner. Owning the company doesn’t open every mailbox by itself. The access review lists each person’s mailboxes and removes the listed access in one action.

Is our mail encrypted?

Message bodies and attachments are encrypted at rest, and each company’s mail is kept apart from every other company’s. Mail’s own services can read standard mailboxes; that’s how search and filing work. While the spam filter is on, a short excerpt of each new message, with its sender, subject and links, goes to an outside classification service. Secure Mail, a more private mailbox type, is coming. It’s switched off today.

How does the spam filter decide?

First, Mail checks what it knows itself: replies to mail you sent, senders your team kept or marked Spam, and warning signs like a reply address on another domain. Then an outside classification service answers narrow questions, such as whether a message is a promotion or a deception aimed at a click or a payment. Mail from people you already write to never goes to Spam on that service’s word alone. Uncertain mail stays in the Inbox, and a person’s Spam or Not spam wins. The filter doesn’t use SPF, DKIM or DMARC results yet, and we don’t quote a catch rate.
