Office · Texts
Texts from the company number. Checked before they send.
Drivers, brokers and shippers hear from your business number, not someone’s personal cell. Before a text leaves, the platform checks that the person agreed, that they haven’t replied STOP, and that it’s 8 AM–9 PM for their area code.

Where it works
The same conversations on the web, the tablet and the phone.
Every surface texts from the company number and runs the same checks. The web does the setup; the apps carry the conversations.
Texts, surface by surface
- WebIn testingText messages under Communication: conversations, filing, follow-ups, numbers and registration. On a computer or a tablet’s browser.
- TabletIn testingThe Texts screen in the tablet app: conversations, new texts, replies and the opt-in invitation. Filing and registration stay on the web.
- MobileIn testingThe same Texts screen in the phone app, sending from the business number, not your own. A phone’s browser can’t open the web app.
The tablet and phone apps are test builds on company devices, not in any app store. No app sends notifications yet: new texts show while Texts is open.
Conversations
One conversation per person, on the business number.
Each outside number has one conversation on each business number. Replies go out from that business number, never from someone’s own phone, and the history stays with the company.
- Each text you send shows where it is: Queued, Sending, Sent, Delivered or Delivery failed.
- If a send can’t be confirmed, your text stays in the box. Check submission asks about that same text, so nothing goes out twice.
- Up to 1,600 characters a text.
- In the apps, New text starts a conversation with a number you type in. On the web, you start from a contact.
ComingA text doesn’t show which teammate sent it yet, and only the person who got a number can text from it today. Both are coming.

Unknown numbers
A text from a new number waits to be filed.
When a number no contact carries texts you, its conversation sits on top under Needs filing and a card lands in the admin’s Work queue. File it once, and that number belongs to a contact.
- Texts from a number that one contact already carries file to that contact on their own.
- File as a contact makes a new person contact, named with the number until you rename it.
- Turn a text into a follow-up with an owner in Work, or record how the conversation ended. On the web.

Consent
Ask first. Your text waits for a yes.
Carriers expect a person to agree before a business texts them. An admin approves the exact invitation each number may send. Write to someone who hasn’t agreed, and the invitation goes first while your text waits.
An admin approves the wording
Once per number, under Phone numbers. It goes out when someone invites or writes to the person, or, if you allow it, after their first text.
No approved invitation on the number? Then a text to someone who hasn’t agreed is refused: “This person has not agreed to receive texts.”
Your text waits
Write as usual. The invitation goes out, and your text is held until they agree.
They reply YES, and it sends
The held text goes out, still only between 8 AM and 9 PM for their area code. No YES within 3 days, the default, and it never sends.

STOP, HELP and quiet hours
The rules run on the server, for every send.
Consent, opt-outs and quiet hours are checked by the platform itself, whether a text starts on the web, the tablet or a phone. No screen can skip them.
Before any text leaves, the platform checks that
- the sender holds this number
- the phone balance isn’t empty
- they haven’t replied STOP
- it’s 8 AM–9 PM for their area code
- the number’s registration is approved
- they agreed, or the invitation goes first
If a check fails, the text isn’t sent and your draft stays in the box. A text waiting for a YES is held instead.

STOP
In testingSTOP, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END or QUIT opts the number out of your company’s texts and of calls placed from the platform, on every one of your numbers. START, UNSTOP or YES opts them back in.
HELP
In testingHELP or INFO gets an automatic reply that says how to stop, so nobody has to answer it by hand.
Quiet hours
In testingTexts go 8 AM–9 PM in the time zone of the recipient’s area code, not wherever they happen to be. Outside those hours a text is refused with “Try later”, not saved for the morning.
+1 numbers only
Texts go only to +1 numbers whose area code the platform can place in a time zone. Any other number is refused, not sent.
Carrier registration
Before a number texts, the carriers want to know who’s texting.
U.S. phone carriers deliver business texts only from numbers registered to a real business that texts people who agreed. It’s how they keep spam off phones. Every business that texts has to register, and the platform won’t send from a number until it’s approved.
- 10DLC
Local numbers
An ordinary 10-digit number used for business texts. It’s registered in two parts: your business, then what you’ll text and how people agree.
- Verification
Toll-free numbers
800, 888 and the other toll-free codes go through one review of your business and your texts. Toll-free texting needs an EIN.
- Sole proprietor
No EIN on file?
A local number can still register as a sole proprietor: one number, one registration, and a code texted to the owner’s mobile to confirm.
Five steps, about 5 minutes, in the web app.
Texting registration sits under Organization › Admin. Your business details come from the organization profile. The description, consent wording and sample texts come prewritten for a transportation business, and you can change anything.
What carriers look at
- A legal name, EIN and address that match your IRS paperwork
- A working https website that describes your business
- A contact email at your website’s domain
- How people agree: a web form, a paper form, in person or on a call, or texting START
- A privacy policy that says mobile numbers aren’t shared. The app gives you the two sentences to add.
- 1 to 5 sample texts that name your business, one with “Reply STOP to opt out.”
Any carrier fee is shown before you send and paid from the phone balance. Toll-free verification is free.

Where it stands today
- Local numbers (10DLC)In testing
Your application is saved and goes to the carriers automatically once ANNEX ORBIS finishes its own carrier setup. Until then, a new local number can’t text.
- Toll-free numbersIn testing
Sent to the reviewers the moment you finish. None has come back approved yet.
Once it’s sent, carriers usually decide in 1–7 days. If they ask for a change, the app says what to fix, and you send it again.

FAQ
Questions about business texting
Do texts come from my own cell phone number?
No. Every text goes out from the company’s business number, whether you write it on the web or in the tablet or phone app. Your personal number and your phone’s own messaging app aren’t used.
Why can’t a new number text right away?
Carriers have to approve the number’s registration first. Toll-free verification goes to the reviewers the moment you finish. Local-number registration is saved and goes out automatically once our own carrier setup is finished. After that, carrier review usually takes 1–7 days.
Can drivers text us a photo of a BOL?
Not today. Sending pictures isn’t offered, and a picture someone texts you is kept for 30 days but can’t be opened on the web or in the apps yet. For paperwork, have drivers email a shared inbox like dispatch@.
Can the whole dispatch team text from one number?
Not yet. Today only the person who got a number can text from it, and a text doesn’t show which teammate sent it. Sharing a number with teammates and showing the sender are both coming.
What happens when someone replies STOP?
Their number is opted out of your company’s texts and of calls placed from the platform, on all of your numbers. The conversation shows Do not text and the reply box locks. If they text START, UNSTOP or YES later, they’re back in.
Will my phone tell me when a driver replies?
No. The apps don’t send notifications yet. New texts show up while the Texts screen or the web page is open.
