Meet face to face, with the host at the door.

Video meetings in the web app. The host lets each person in, and everyone checks their camera and microphone before they appear. Start one from Chat when typing stops working. Nothing to install on a computer or tablet.

The meeting runs in the browser. The apps start it and admit people.

The meeting itself runs in the web app, on a computer or in a tablet’s browser. The tablet and mobile apps list your meetings, start one and let the host admit people.

Where it works

  • WebIn testingStart or schedule a meeting, check your camera and microphone, admit people and end it for everyone.
  • TabletIn testingStart a meeting and admit people in the app. Join opens the meeting in a browser tab, which needs its own web sign-in.
  • MobileIn testingStart a meeting and admit people. A phone can’t join a meeting yet; camera and microphone in the app are Coming.

The tablet and mobile apps are test builds on company devices, not in any store. A phone’s browser can’t open the web app, and no surface sends meeting notifications.

Before you join

Check your camera and microphone before anyone sees you.

Press Join meeting on the room page. Once the host lets you in, a setup screen comes before the meeting: your own picture, with a choice of microphone, camera and speakers.

  1. Ready to join?Open the meeting from your Meet list and press Join meeting. Unless you’re the host, you wait there until the host admits you.
  2. Pick your devicesThe setup screen shows your own picture. Choose the microphone, camera and speakers you’ll use, then press Join. Audio and video start on.

The waiting room

The host lets each person in.

Everyone but the host waits outside until the host admits or denies them. When the meeting is over, one button closes it for everyone.

  • Admit or Deny each person from the Waiting room
  • Only teammates invited to the meeting can ask to join
  • End for everyone closes the room for all at once

Every person shows as “You” today

The waiting room and the meeting show every person as “You”, so the host can’t tell who is waiting.

From Chat

Start a meeting from Chat and invite your team.

When a conversation needs voices, the camera button beside the Team chat title opens New meeting. Start now or schedule a date and time, name it, and tick who’s invited.

  • Start now opens the new meeting right away
  • Schedule puts it on each invited teammate’s Meet list
  • Search your team and tick who’s invited

No calendar invite or email goes out, and the meeting isn’t linked to the channel it started from.

FAQ

Questions offices ask

Does anyone need to install anything?

Not on a computer or a tablet: the meeting runs in the browser. On a tablet, the app’s Join meeting opens the same page in a browser tab. A phone’s browser can’t open the web app, so phones can’t join yet.

Can I invite a customer, a broker or a job applicant?

Not today. Meetings are for teammates in your company, invited from Chat. Guest invites by email aren’t offered.

Can drivers join from their tablet or phone?

From a tablet, through the browser: Join meeting opens the meeting in a browser tab, which needs its own web sign-in. From a phone, not yet: the mobile app can start a meeting and admit people, but it can’t join one. There’s no dial-in number.

Are meetings recorded?

Only if every admitted person agrees, and only when the host starts it. Playback isn’t offered, so a recording can’t be watched today. There are no transcripts or AI notes.

Will meetings show up on our calendars?

No. There’s no calendar invite or sync, and no notification goes out. A scheduled meeting appears in each invited teammate’s Meet list.

Is it ready for our weekly meetings?

It’s In testing: built and running, but not yet proven in a real two-person meeting in production. Talk to us before you plan around it.
